**Q: What is diameter of heating plate?**
A: The heating surface is a hair under 7.5".  You can use up to a 12" pan on it if you want.  Anything larger and the handles get in the way.

**Q: Can you get a low enough temperature to just simmer?**
A: I am unable to get it to simmer but then feel it is to low so I have raised the temp a little more so it brings to a slight boil but not a heavy boil

**Q: Does the indicator light cycle on and off to let you know when the element is heating up (cycling on) and cycling off?  Also is the knob hot to touch?**
A: The light stays on until it hits a max temp and then the light turns off.  The knob is not hot to touch.

**Q: H lolow many degrees Fahrenheit will it get**
A: I do not know but it boils water quickly.

The Techwood Hot Plate Portable Electric Stove is a fantastic little appliance that delivers excellent value for the price. I’ve purchased several of these over the years, and overall, they’ve been a reliable and convenient addition to my kitchen at home and events. First off, the performance is impressive. Comparable to commercial electric stove. With 1500 watts of power, this hot plate heats up quickly and provides consistent cooking temperatures. The adjustable temperature control works well, allowing me to fine-tune the heat for everything from simmering sauces to boiling water. The compact and portable design is another big plus. It’s lightweight and doesn’t take up much space, making it perfect for small kitchens or even cooking for events in tights spaces. The stay-cool handles are a thoughtful addition, making it safe and easy to move the hot plate around, even when it’s been in use for a while. However, I’m giving this product 4 stars instead of 5 because of its durability. While most of the units I’ve purchased have worked well, one or two had a shorter lifespan than expected. They stopped functioning properly after about a year of regular use, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the majority of them have held up just fine, and for the price, I still think it’s a great deal. Overall, the Techwood Hot Plate is a solid choice for anyone looking for an affordable, portable, and efficient cooking solution. It’s not perfect in terms of longevity, but it definitely gives you the best bang for your buck.
