That was my experience. It is especially slippery in downward dog and plank. I've had it for months and it still feels slippery. Other than that, I like the mat very much. **Q: Is this mat made in China?** A: Yes, says right on the packaging. **Q: How to clean the mat?** A: I haven't washed this one yet.
