## Overview

The Adafruit 16-Channel 12-bit PWM/Servo Driver (PCA9685) is a compact, I²C-controlled board that enables precise PWM output management without continuous microcontroller intervention. Featuring a built-in clock, reverse polarity protection, and the ability to chain up to 62 units for nearly 1,000 outputs, it’s ideal for advanced robotics, LED lighting, and servo control projects.

## Description

It is PWM drive with I²C control with built-in clock. This is unlike the TLC5940 family, you don't need to send signal continuously by connecting your micro controller, it works completely free! When we saw this chip, we immediately noticed how great it would be. Control 16 free running PWM outputs using just two pins! You can even adjust 62 break chains to control the 992 PWM output (we really want to see as it will be amazing) Reverse polarity protection at terminal block entry Dimensions (no head or terminal block) 2.5" x 1" x 0.1" (62.5mm x 25.4mm x 3mm) Weight (no nozzle or terminal block): 5.5 grams Weight (3 x 4 with nozzle and terminal block): 9 grams In addition to fully tested and assembled breakage, this product comes with 4 3x4 male flat heads (for servo/LED plugs), a 2-pin terminal block (for power) and a 6-pin 0.1-inch head (for installation on breadboard). A little light soldering will be required to mount and customize the panel by fitting the desired nozzles, but it is a 15 minute task even beginners can do. You can also use right-angled 3x4 nozzles

**Q: Is this the 2015 revision with the stronger polarity-protection transistor? The official page shows this revision.**
A: Hi Marco Velasquez,This servo driver is product ID# 815 with reverse polarity protection on the terminal block input.

**Q: Does it come with a manual or some information for configure it and how to set the pwm by I2C??**
A: There is no manual included. There is infomation available on the manufacturers website on how to connect it to an Arduino microcontroller module or to a Raspberry Pi module. Go to www.adafruit.com an search for model # 815, there will be tutorials and documentation available.
