Maintenance is low.With my first child on the way I selected the new cool mist. Read the pamphlet on maintenance and regarded it; it was already there. I learned much through one machine. The calcium in the water adhered to the heating element that seemed like a mixture between metal and stone. The unit was unrecoverable. It stopped working and that was the results of expectation, the calcium particles in the water somehow rendered the heating element unable to continue.the problem with owning anything is having to tend to its nature, it's requirements.when child number two came along, i ordered the tide and true, the same style mom used for the least amount of maintenance and I followed the directions for it's maintenance; the difference of a few years and the death of a machine.
