Wool is quite strong but beware not to pull it sideways as it will split/fray. No messy joins or lumps in the wool which was a bonus as, due to the type of work it's used for, would be pretty difficult to hide. I found it useful to have a cover over my lap to catch the falling hair which though minimal, is enough to standout on black trousers! This wool is expensive, but the result is stunning.
