I wanted to fertilize older plants which would be 4oz per gallon. As I explained I did 4 it for 2 gallons. When I realized my mistake a week after. I realized my plants had obviously grown..started producing more fruit and foliage. I was impressed especially since the amount to use in comparison to the gallon bottle I purchased would have depleted faster...now I have more to use Yes it smells but the smell to me is more medicinal than a fish odor..and the minute you mix it I couldn't smell it any longer. It was a bit messy to mix especially in the first use because the bottle is heavy and becomes cumbersome trying to pour it without getting it all over the ground ... the container you're pouring it into...your gloves...
