However we have since had to replace it as the "silent" mechanism lasted about 3 days before it started making constant noise from the second hand, which has got so loud it keeps waking up our daughter, so its be resigned to the donation pile! It has a very cheap plastic mechanism that has no sound proofing at all. Would not recommend

I bought this clock for the sole purpose that it said silent and I didn’t want to upset my toddlers sleep by having any additional sounds in her room... it looks as described but it is FAR from being silent. In fact it is a lot noiser than other clocks we have that do not make that claim.
