The material is silk soft like nylon but it is not. I washed (warm water, detergent and lots of fabric softener) and dried (tumble dry on low heat) before use. This helped to get rid of all the wrinkles, plus it was so soft after a good wash and dry. Size: the size is standard UK size, you can buy according to your own. Overall, for the price listed, this was an absolute wonderful purchase and I would recommend this highly. The colour is nice and it zips up at the end. The underside is pink. So if anyone is thinking of buying this, I would say get one. It fits my single bed very easy and is a generous size.
