Used my shredder oil I had been using on it for 3 or so years but made no difference. Waited a day and oiled again but still grinding and struggling to pull paper through. Bought new less expensive micro cut desertcart shredder, which I love, and ordered this oil at the same time. Thought I'd at least try the new oil in old shredder and as soon as I ran the new oil through on paper and reversed it once and ran through again, the old shredder has not made the first noise and is working great. Now I have 2 working shredders. Don't know if this new synthetic oil was the only reason for the old shredder to work again but I know of nothing else I did differently and I am happy! GBC/Swingline ones do not seem to be available in the USA, and third party one s have very mixed reviews. Saw an option to get GBC branded oil in a squeeze bottle and decided to DIY. Folded two sheets of paper in half and then placed them inside a gallon ziplock plastic bag. Then drizzled some oil on inside the folded halves and sealed. Worked the oil a bit through the bag, then let it set.
