Review: Perfect match for big Cerwin Vegas. Brings the music to life! - So, I gave these a brief test today, on my main system. My main system isn't vintage, but it's rocking a pair of Cerwin Vega VS-150s, which are actually the perfect speaker for this test. My amp in this setup is a Yaqin MC-100B tube amplifier, running Tung Sol KT-120 power tubes for a punchier bottom end. No tone controls. Source is a Phase Linear PL8000 linear tracking turntable (same as Pioneer L1000, but in silver), connected to a Yaqin MS-12B tube phono stage (mullard repro tubes). Hooked to that are my VS-150 Vegas, and I paralleled the new tweeters with the Vegas. These tweeters are a VERY good match for these big Vegas. The tweeters are very efficient, which means they're very loud. They're almost a perfect match for the Vegas as-is, however. I might try a resistor or an L-pad to turn them down just a tad. Maybe 2db at most, but if you have less efficient speakers (Vegas are 102db) you'll definitely want an L-pad to adjust them down. Now the sound... Vegas are not known for their clarity. The VS series had the best tweeters, but they're still not detailed. These tweeters fix that completely. Cymbals sound amazing, and the music was bouncing all over my room. I tested with one of my favorite recordings (the new Daft Punk album), and my ears were perking up with all the new stuff I was hearing -- or old stuff heard in a new way. The sound stage expanded enormously (again not a strong point of the Vegas). The big difference is after i listened to one whole side of the album, I listened to it again, but this time without the tweeters. It sounded flat and lifeless in comparison, like I was missing half the music. THAT sold me on these tweeters. After one listen, I can't stand not having them paralleled to my Vegas. Even if they do need a bit of tweaking, it's really not much, and they're very livable as-is. Only downside is I can hear a LOT more surface noise. Grumble. Time to buy a record cleaner.
Review: Awesome Sound - I have a pair of Elac Debut 6.2 Bookshelf speakers and they sound good but was lack the highs. So I went on line to desertcart and I found the Super Tweeters I was looking for , and let me say they are heavy with their 20 Oz. magnet ( no cheap plastic tweeter ) these are heavy , they look great sitting on the top of my speakers the power and sound is awesome especially with my Sub woofer. I now have to keep my treble on my Yamaha Amp only half way and make few adjustments with my Teac EQA -30 Equalizer. The price was fantastic too. And I have a pair of Polk Monitor 40 Series II they work well with them too. You want more highs with your speakers and don't want to spend a ton of money buy these. Steve

**Q: Home use. Other sites list TW28 as 4ohms. Back of TW28 says 4-8ohms. OK to run speaker wires directly from 8ohm speaker terminals to TW28 terminals?**
A: It is OK to run these speakers directly to 8 ohm speaker terminals. You will love how they upgrade your sound.

**Q: Do they come in pairs**
A: Yes they come in pairs... for the money they are pretty good....   a little tinny at first... I use them with a secondary system... not my prime listening system

**Q: Are they aluminum ? Th**
A: The silver tweeter face is aluminum but the black round housing on the sides, back and pedestal are all plastic. No problems here so far.

**Q: I want to add these to a set of speakers that have a tweeter with almost the same frequency range. Will I realize any benefit if I do?**
A: I mounted mine on top of my front speakers of my Infinity speaker 7.1 system and made a dramatic sound improvement with high frequencies even though my Infinity speakers had separate tweeters built in.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect match for big Cerwin Vegas. Brings the music to life!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly Good

I wrote "surprisingly", because Pyramid is usually not good quality stuff. I've bought a few of their items over the years, and was always disappointed. BUT, these are an exception. I bought these to augment a pair of floorstanding speakers that I otherwise really like, but the tweeters are a bit rolled off for my tastes, and I wanted to add some "air" to them. These did the trick. Now, I will caution you on how to connect them. It appears a lot of people are just paralleling them with their speakers, but doing so can drop the total impedance to a level that could overheat and even damage your amp. What I did was to split the feed to my amp with RCA tees, and added a Fosi 200 wpc amp just to feed the tweeters. This gives the added bonus of having independent volume control for the tweeters, so you can set them to be just right. The pairing sounds great! One further mention...this tweeter comes with capacitors in-line to block the low frequencies, which is necessary on any tweeter. But the caps these come with allow them to reach down into the upper midrange, so there will be some doubling. That wasn't a problem in my application, but I think it might be in some, depending on the speaker. If it is, just use a different cap that crosses the tweeter at a higher frequency, and that should do the trick. Lastly, give them some play time to smooth out before judging. But really, almost all speakers need some break in. As always, good listening!
