Rated for temperatures from -30°C to 80°C and resistant to UV, oil, water, and corrosive substances, it’s UL/CSA listed and NEC compliant for a wide range of demanding electrical applications including wet locations, direct burial, and hazardous environments.

## Description

Ultratite-Type NM 1/2-Inch Non-Metallic Liquid tight Flexible Conduit. Liquid tight Flexible Nonmetallic Conduit. UL/CSA Listed. Oil-Resistant. Sunlight-Resistant. Crush-Resistant. Temperature Rated -30-Degree C to 80-Degree C. Ultratite Type NM is manufactured with a spiral of rigid PVC reinforcement imbedded within a flexible PVC wall. For the installation and protection of electrical conductors in circuits of 600-Volt nominal; or less. Motor circuits-for conductors of motor feeders; branch and control circuits. Applications requiring movement; crossover connections; or tight bends. For direct burial and encased in concrete. For flexible connections to swimming pool; spa; and hot tub motors per NEC 680.21A3 and 680.42A1. Electric signs and outline lighting supply and secondary-circuit conductors per NEC 600.7; 600.311000-Volt or less and 600.32 over 1000-Volt. In Hazardous Locations-where necessary for flexible connections within hazardous locations in accordance with the following:-Class I; Div. 2-NEC 501.10B2-Class II; Div. 1-NEC 502.10A2-Class II; Div. 2-NEC 502.10B2-Class III; Div. 1-NEC 503.10A2-Class III; Div. 2-NEC 503.10B. Floating building feeders and services per NEC 553.7. Boatyards and Marinas in accordance with NEC 555.13. Cranes and Hoists in accordance with NEC 610.11C. **Q: Is it suitable (per the code) for exposed wiring in a garage, or do I need to use electrical metal tubing?**
A: I seriously doubt it will meet the local code anywhere for exposed wiring because it is plastic. it was make for underground wiring runs. The primary advantage of it over steel tubing is it won't rust and leak water into it when buried. Steel tubing is required for exposed wires on walls because it is resistant to nails.

**Q: Can I fit an ethernet cable through this and bury it underground?**
A: No physical reason why not. Is it up to any applicable codes? Not sure. The ethernet cable will fit and it is moisture tight providing you use the correct ends. The conduit itself is rigid enough to hold its shape underground, depending on depth.

**Q: Can you run surface mounted thhn wire through this cable and will it be NEC compliant?**
A: Not an electrician but liquid tite conduit is used to connect power to equipment usually up to six feet . Yes thhn wire can be used in this conduit

**Q: Will this hold up in constant sun exposure?**
A: I’ve had this exposed to the hot Florida sun for 2 years with no problems

I love this concept as it is somewhat easier to use than typical rigid conduit. A few things to keep in mind if this is to be exposed: The flexible conduit is somewhat difficult to keep straight when mounting as it comes rolled and it retains some of that memory. So despite my best efforts to pull and mount the conduit, some wave remains. The product is easy to cut with a utility knife. This product is so easy to run cable through, even around corners. Great seller - the product was exactly as described.
