The Baby Monitor We Were Looking For
After trying other devices, such as the FLIR FX and reading up on the Nest alternative, we settled on this device and were very happy. It works as advertised and is much better than other devices for baby monitoring as it can act as an audio monitor running in the background on your phone or tablet. Below are some pros and cons:Pros:-Audio monitoring while App is in background on device-Connectivity across many devices and without App on computers-Ability to stream on your own wireless network, allowing for good range and no requirement to upload and download from an external company server - curing obnoxious data usage and lag issues-remote viewing available outside of your home network that works well-consistently works-great night vision-customizable settingsCons:-Price: It is between $20 and $70 overpriced in comparison with competitors-Resolution: The HD is still a little less clear streaming and the resolution is lower than competitors, but not enough to matter for monitoring-Inability to Use When Traveling: The connectivity here depends on your home network, so if you try to travel with it you have to reconfigure everything, if you can, for the away spot, then reconfigure again when you get home - just not practical, and probably better off using Skype or Facetime between a couple of other devices (like old iPhones or the like) for away time-Design: It's a little behind on form factor and design in comparison to competitors. Likely they are using a lot of standard parts in a custom configuration without a lot of money put into minimizing form factor.-Complexity: This is a positive for tech folks, but for everyone else, the array of settings requires some careful configuration to get the best audio levels and video streaming quality, none of which is well documented.Tip: Under the settings, for your primary feed try bumping up all the settings for audio and video to the max - max frames, bitrate, etc, and switch to ACC for audio. Play with the mic sensitivity. You'll likely end up with better video and audio if you do, and a good home network can take the bandwidth.I'm most impressed with the connection. For a week I've been testing it at home, at work, on LTE, on wifi, across multiple devices, and usually it connects right away. If it doesn't, another tip: completely close the app and restart the app (don't just press the home button, double tap and swipe to kill the app). If that doesn't resolve the issue, do the old unplug and re-plug in the camera, which so far hasn't been a regular occurrence. One item on my wish list is to be able to pick a region for setting the camera's exposure metering. Right now, it must use some form of evaluative metering to decide settings, and by placing the camera on a side wall, at night we have the bright IR hitting the wall and creating a hot spot that the camera adjusts for by turning down the brightness. That results in a darker than wanted overall room picture. I'd rather blow out the wall as overly bright and have the room be "brighter," which I think is just the camera adjusting the brightness levels lower than I would set manually when in night vision mode.

decent camera, horrible customer support
I have two of these wifi baby cameras, and the quality is decent once they are up and running- but the setup is ridiculous, and their customer support is disappointing. I would consider myself tech savvy in that I can follow the basic directions given in the manual to set up the cameras- but I ran into problem after problem. I called for help with setup and it took the gal on the phone over an hour to get my cameras up and running correctly- so clearly it was not something I would have been able to figure out on my own. A few months later, my router got unplugged and when I plugged it back in, both cameras lost connection. I tried following the manual to set them up again but was unsuccessful. I followed the troubleshooting advice on their page, which did not solve the problem I was having. I once again called for customer support and was told that I would have to pay $20 for phone support (even though the first year is supposed to be covered??). After spending that much money on a camera (and I have two), I would expect the company to provide support when needed.

Great picture quality; setup not easy
This is a great baby monitor and was what we were looking for. I am fairly handy with setting up electronics and initially was not able to get it to work - looking at some of the other reviews I was worried that this was going to end up being a sunk cost, but I put in a request to their customer support, and Sheri from the customer support team was extremely helpful - she quickly set up a call, reviewed the diagnostics and determined that the camera had a hardware issue. They swapped out the camera for a new one, and I was able to set that up by myself without any trouble at all. Side note - I called customer support about 4 months after the purchase and there was no additional charge or any difficulty in getting help from them.Pros:- Great quality; very clear picture, even at night; we tried a different device while we were having initial issues with ours, and the quality with WiFi baby is significantly better- Works on various devices without any issues- No cloud upload - you can save things to an SD card as needed- Allows access even if you're not over wifi (if you're at work or traveling)Cons:- Setup is not for the faint of heart; it is not difficult but you have to be reasonably familiar with your electronics (router, computer, etc.)- The mobile app needs some work to bring it up to date- No feature to move camera through the app (we did not need this so it wasn't an issue for us)

Great features and software, cheap hardware
Tried a lot of baby monitors, and this is by far the best. Great quality, great support (They spent 40 minutes with me on the phone due to a complicated home network issue). Looks great at night, and has multiple settings for thresholds, alerts, etc on their iphone app.[UPDATE] After about a year, the hardware literally 'fell apart' when it got stuck in a tight space and I had to pull it out of there. Without too much force, the front came off. The screws and connectors are under-engineered. Be careful. As a consequence, it appears a couple of weeks later the WIFI and Infrared stopped working, just 2 months after my warranty expired. I suspect the two events are related. While I loved the app, that too developed issues after an APP update, that their team were unable to resolve despite hours of debugging. So I love the app, more or less, if it worked, and I love the camera and the picture quality... when it works. Downgrading to 3 stars, although admittedly it was my own fault for getting the camera stuck, it really shouldn't come apart that easy. Cheap plastic construction basically, so just be careful.
