Reliable and still works fine but I can't really get the same modules for it anymore. In scoping out alternatives, I decided to try this Eufy light bulb as, in general, it gets good reviews and is relatively inexpensive at $15. This review is on the dimmable soft white version, NOT the color changing version. Note that the instructions warn to shut off power to the bulb socket before screwing it in.My main concerns were connectivity, scheduling ability, and Wi-Fi range.This bulb does NOT require a dedicated hub to work; the hubless design is nice as my current router connections are full, and I wanted to avoid buying a switch if possible. During setup you simply sync the bulb onto your existing Wi-Fi router. This is easy via the Eufy Home app on your Android or Apple device; the app quickly steps you through the process. For Android, I'm using a four-year-old HTC One M8 phone running Android 6; for Apple it's a five-year-old iPad running iOS 9. The app and bulb controls, including dimming, work fine on both devices. You can share access to the bulbs with other persons if desired.For scheduling, you can set on/off times for individual bulbs or for groups of bulbs multiple times each day; each bulb can be assigned a different name. My present X-10 system has five different groups, and the Eufy system can accommodate that. No indication, though as to how many different groups it can handle. Setting the times is pretty intuitive and easy. There also is an "away" setting that will turn bulbs on and off at random times, and an "all on" feature.I was impressed on the Wi-Fi range. Granted just one bulb at this time, but the router and bulb are at separate ends of the house, about 45 feet away, two walls, and no problem controlling it. That's the largest separation I'll likely see in my house, so very encouraging. My Wi-Fi router is a two-year-old Netgear N600 series device (802.11n dual band). Note that the manual for the bulb indicates that 2.4 GHz band is required.The bulb can be configured to work with both Alexa and Google Assistant, but I did not do that.The bulb itself is LED-based, fits the standard E26 threaded socket, and is 60W (800 lumens). The opaque plastic lower base means that all of the light comes out of the top half of the bulb. It does get warm to the touch but nowhere near as hot as a standard incandescent bulb. Overall it's a good bulb for general area lighting. It's rated for 20,000+ hours of use, about 13 years at 4-5 hours per day of use. Specifications don't indicate how many on-off cycles it can endure.I did want to use this bulb on some outdoor lights also, but the manual and specification sheets didn't have a temperature range for that. I did do an online chat with Eufy, and they noted a temperature range of 30-140 deg-F. They also noted that it would work at colder temperatures but that would likely shorten the lifespan of the bulb. I will probably put one outside anyways and see how it does through a cold New England winter. I'll update this review if there are any issues.Overall, a good start; I'll be adding more bulbs shortly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Other than weak wifi, they're good. *by R***A on Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2019* We have two of the previous gen bulbs. So when I went to get a new bulb, I went straight for Eufy.Now I really do like the bulbs, and would recommend them, however, they all seem to have a weak wifi. I went with the 2.0 which I replaced one of the living room bulbs with hoping that it had a better wifi connection. Our router is on the home office upstairs, and not that terribly far (just a floor up) from the living room.Even the new bulb says the wifi signal is weak (where as the August Lock bridge things it's great from the kitchen). I'm disappointed in that because every so often they go offline. Not often enough to be an annoyance, though.The one previous in the living room went to the upstairs hall, so it's right outside the room the router is in. No wifi problems there. Makes me wonder if the bulb's receivers are directional and just have problems if the wifi originates from above the receiver.That weak wifi is the only reason I have for knocking off a star. Otherwise the bulbs work great. The app is easy to use, it has no trouble with Google Home. Install was okay... I have to turn off my phone's data to get them to connect. Once I figured that out, the other bulbs were easy to install. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice lightbulb - I'd like to give it 6 stars for no hub! *by R***Y on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2019* Rated 4 stars for integration & installation - I'd like it to configure itself :) without me having to switch networks, add it to Alexa, etc. Once integrated with Alexa, Alexa feels the light is unavailable about 50% of the time. I have to go into the EufyHome app and control the light directly. However, when it does work, it works well. Alexa will even dim the light by percentage - pretty cool. I also giving great kudos for a bulb that doesn't require a hub.Light is nice and warm - but the bulb does flicker a bit from time to time, noticeably to me anyway, my wife hasn't complained.Except for the configuration - my only other negative - again, not something I'm going to "ding" for - is the cost of the bulb and how long will it last before I have to replace it? I can get an Alexa enabled outlet switch and wall switch that presumably will last longer than a lightbulb?
