The lens distortion was so severe that only about the center 25% of the lens could be focused (at the 10x power). At higher magnification, the portion of the lens that could be focused was miniscule. The field of view at 10 power (even including the distorted edges of the lens) was only about 100 feet at 1000 yards (it is advertised on other sites at 351 feet).
