This burner doesn't burn your hands just by holding it, it gets very hot and relatively quick, the tips are interchangeable, the power variation switch definitely works, and is much more comfortable than basic ones from Hobby Lobby. It is not professional grade, but you shouldn't be expecting that. For what it is and the extras that come with it, it is well worth the price.
