I don't think it will be a problem. I've had very good luck with these units but I'm not using different drives with different settings. **Q: If the "clone" rate is 1tb / 4hours, then a 4tb drive could take as much as 16 hours to clone?** A: Dear customer, Welcome for your question. ORICO customer service team **Q: If one were copying files to/from both drives simultaneously (to ones primary internal drive) would the transfer rate be slower?** A: Yes some slow down if going from both at same tim but it take bout same amount to both ways **Q: So this definitely won't support 2x 14tb hdds? is there a version of this product that does?** A: Look into getting a NAS, from QNAP or Synology.
