Review: Easy setup, large tent! - PROS: This tent is great. It is very easy to setup and is quite large. My fiancee and I have used it a few times now and each time we got there after people in surrounding campgrounds, and had our tent setup significantly before them. We have brought other people and had 2 blow-up queen sized mattresses fit, with room for our stuff easily. I feel that a 3rd queen size mattress would fit too, but with less room for other things. This tent is pretty tall as well I can stand in it and I am 6' tall, however it does taper down at the sides though. Another great thing about this tent is the bottom of it. the "tarp like" portion along the bottom comes up ~3" up the side which is awesome at keeping the rain out. We had it POUR down raining on one of our trips and everything was perfectly dry inside with NO waterproofing! This tent also has a zippered hole at the bottom for the ability to run wires in/out of the tent also which makes this great if using it anywhere that has power. CON: There are two small things that I do dislike, but the pros listed above (plus the other ones I didn't think to list) significantly outweigh them. My first con is that the door has both a zipper, and Velcro but on mine the Velcro is useless... so each time you want to be sure the door stays closed you need to zipper it, otherwise it is hard to get the Velcro to stick and the door sometimes swings open (but the zippers work flawlessly!) My second con is more about tents in general not particularly against this tent so take it with a grain of salt, but if you setup the tent on the ground the bottom gets wet/dirty and it is hard to clean at at a campsite so you have to pack it away, then when getting home re-setup and hose down and allow to dry etc... Otherwise it is a great tent that I would recommend to anyone even smaller groups can enjoy the ease to setup this tent and have extra room inside!
Review: Buy it - I bought this tent in 2015 and used it every year since. I only threw it away this year but I honestly think I could have made it work a little while longer. I’m just feeling too tired to tent camp these days. So when the tent poles broke this trip (after someone else was “helping” me setup) I just chucked it. I already feel guilty. I honestly can’t think of a negative feature of this tent. We’ve used this tent for countless trips. Some short weekends, some long week trips. From heavy winds and rains to nice sunny days. We only ever got water inside the tent one time. It was our first time setting it up and that night we ended up getting caught in a hurricane. We had made a few mistakes ant setup and once we woke up the next day, dried everything out and fixed our mistakes it never happened again. The rain cover always served us well. When it wasn’t needed, there was plenty of air movement from the 2 side windows, door and top of the tent. Typically, I put it together myself and as my daughter got older she learned to help. It wasn’t “easy” but it was doable. The door was a really great feature especially for the brother who likes to drink by the fire and get up to pee all night or for the 6 year old who just had to go. The entrance was helpful to provide some shelter while you take your shoes off to get inside. We would also tuck our chairs away there overnight so they wouldn’t be wet in the morning. The door having a frame was a convenient feature for kids - you didn’t have to zip it when they ran back inside for their stuffy, you could use the Velcro for a quick fix. Most recently, we fit a king size air mattress which slept 2, another person who is 6’1” alwpt on a sleeping pad, his Great Dane and his bed as well as some fans for circulation. Space was never a problem with this tent. We could hang our lanterns inside for a little light for my daughter. There are pockets for your valuables and flashlights. Not to mention the convenient whole to run power to the tent. I’m trying to give an honest review. I think the only 2 cons about this tent: I couldn’t stand straight up while getting dressed and I’m 5’9” so that was annoying but not a deal breaker for me. The zipper to the door sometimes got stuck but not to the point where you were in a jam. You just go back the other way and it’s fine. Bugs often got caught between the top of the tent and the rain fly, again not a big deal.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: will this tent work in ohio or just montana ?**
A: I bought this for my son & his girlfriend to use at a music festival in Tennessee!!! Tennessee is nowhere near Montana!! Do you think they could trick the tent into believing it is in Montana by hanging posters of the Rockies on nearby trees?

**Q: Since the main gripe has to do with weatherproofing on this tent...is there a way to prep the rain fly to keep it dry inside?**
A: I use tents a lot. Properly set up, guy lines secured, this tent does leak even after water proofing. It may hold in a light sprinkle, but any constant drizzle or short showers, you will be soaked. Even after water proofing it. The tent is nice sized but you will get soaked. Mine is now in the trash. If you want real water proof, you’re spending 1500 or more on a canvas tent that needs water proffing but they work much better.

**Q: I have only used this tent twice why is it leaking on the sides and through the floor?**
A: You need to use a footprint (tarp) and trench around the tent. You should also set the tent up before using it in the field and use seam sealer on it. Follow the directions on the bottle. Some tents even come with a small bottles of it but its not expensive. This advice goes with just about every tent made of nylon.

**Q: If i was going to lay a tarp down first before setting the tent up(so nothing pokes through bottom), how big of a tarp would i need?**
A: I used a 10x16 tarp, but it needed to be folded a little so it was completely hidden under the tent. The perfect size would be 15x6 if you could find it.If any part of the tarp sticks out from under the tent when it is raining, the rain will roll down the side of the tent onto the tarp causing it to pool up on the tarp under the tent. The bottom of your tent will get soaked!
