The pictures are too small and crammed with detail that it's easy to make a mistake if you don't read and re-read the instructions twice. Also, there were only 4 steps but those steps easily could have been expanded to 8 steps with better diagrams, for increased clarity. But, overall, anyone can assemble this bike, if you take your time and don't rush. On a side note, I got more of a workout getting the bike parts out of the box and cleaning up the cardboard and packing styrofoam than my first bike ride.
