Mine was only about 2 weeks.** A: My 1st one lasted about a month. I thought maybe didnt water it properly so I bought another and that one only lasted about 2-3 weeks. Is using of grow light necessary?** A: You should water bromeliad from the top, they have cups that would typically catch rainwater. They do not soak up water from their roots so watering the soil won't work, unfortunately, self-watering planters typically water from the bottom up. Putting your fingers a couple inches into the soil can usually gauge if you need to water again, but its easier to just look at the top cup and when it has drunk everything, add more. Most bromeliads don't need much water if the plant isn't doing well start watering the right area of the plant and see how it goes. Most of mine that are inside I water every couple weeks, if outside then maybe a little sooner if it's evaporating away. **Q: How often does it bloom?** A: Hi! Bromeliads only bloom once. Their blooms can last for a few months before dying off. Once the bloom fades away, the plant will begin to produce 'pups' and the mother plant will eventually fade away.
