The 75+ Mortgage Lifter Tomato Seeds are a premium heirloom beefsteak variety originating from West Virginia, boasting a 90% germination rate. Developed in the 1930s by M.C. 'Radiator Charlie' Byles through a unique crossbreeding of four large tomato types, these seeds promise large, flavorful fruits with a rich backstory perfect for passionate gardeners.

## Description

Origin: WV, USA. Type: Beefsteak This tomato has the distinction of having the best "story" in its relatively short history. The Mortgage Lifter tomato was developed in the early 1930's in Logan, West Virginia by a radiator repairman, M.C. "Radiator Charlie" Byles. Without any experience in breeding tomatoes he made a successful cross of four of the largest tomatoes he could find - German Johnson, Beefsteak, an Italian variety, and an English variety.

Review: Our new favorite - Purchased three years ago. Original seeds are still germinating three years later so there are no germination complaints here (proper care and storage required). The best flavor, low acid tomatoes we have grown. Incredible pasta sauce base. Purchased the same variety elsewhere and those were bigger, but the flavor was not near as good and took a very long time to ripen on the vine. Heirloom so we don’t need to purchase again but we will if we somehow run out of seeds. No blight for us if thinned and pruned to prevent ground contact. Most varieties do get blight for us with the same care.

Seeds very viable. Plant two seeds per hole. Planted 6 cells got 10 plants. Trans planted into solo cups and have them in the garden now. Putting on tomatoes.
