Great shells. I bought 4 and 3 of them were moved into the first night. I will definitely be getting more for our 6 hermit crabs. They're beautiful and shiny and much better for your crabs than painted shells. If you got hermies from the pet store or fair or whatever with a painted shell, give them these as an alternative. They are sensitive to the paint (just because it is "non-toxic" for humans doesn't mean it is safe for hermit crabs) and they will almost always ditch a painted shell for a non-painted one ASAP. Also, since those places are usually horrible at giving good info about these cool critters....they are social creatures and need company, so you should have more than one if you can. They also breathe with modified gills, and will slowly suffocate to death if their environment isn't humid enough, so if you have an enclosure with a grate or something like that on top, it needs to be covered to keep in the humidity. They are also fantastic climbers, and are happiest when they have lots of things to climb on and hide under/in. They need both fresh and salt water available in their tank so that they can regulate the salinity of the water they hold in their shells. Again, they are really sensitive to chemicals so make sure to give them non-chlorinated water and be careful what products you use in and around the enclosure. :)

These were a lot smaller than expected. I have digital calipers and measured my hermit crabs before ordering. The shells are gorgeous but little. Didnt quiet “measure up.” Im so disappointed that they wont be able to use especially the magpie because it was the whole reason I ordered them! Would really like them replaced with correct size.
