Lovely, heavy cables, well insulated, and, very importantly, nice and long. As another reviewer has pointed out, the very generous length of these cables permits connection between two vehicles, with a space between each, so the driver of the car with the dead battery can actually climb in from the driver's side to start his/her car! - even when the two vehicle batteries are on the furthest sides - not so with inferior, short cables.The springs in the clamps are immensely strong, quite shockingly so. The average woman (or weedy man!) would need the strength of both hands to open them!From an engineering point of view, I'm extremely impressed that one end of each of the clamp springs is utilised to press onto the insulated cable, to force it against the inside of the handle of each clamp. This acts as a very powerful and effective strain-relief, to help to prevent the cables being pulled out of their internal clamp crimpings (which I had happen with my former jump leads, which these replace).This is one heck of a product, and I can see no reason why these jump leads would fail to work. Haven't needed to use them yet, fortunately, but I have total confidence in them. A rating of 800A would seem to be more than adequate, though I'm not an electrician. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good strong cables *by D***O on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 December 2020* You never know when you'll need jump leads,for yourself or some friend or neighbour......I went to a well known motors spares company who wanted over £35 for a similar item.These are great for less than half the price and strong clamps and long thick cables.Started up my neighbours 2 litre diesel van with ease......the bag isn't much good,(it split after a short while) but a carrier bag does the job just as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Advise needed please *by K***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 March 2015* I'm sorry. Its dumb question time.I always thought that to use these you clip the crocodile clips (positive) (red) to the car helping you, then the black to black while engine is running anf broken down car turned off.Now what worries me - is that if there is a charge running from live battery through the wires, then should I really be touching metal crocodile clips? :(Maybe both engines should be switched off before connecting? I'm clueless.Can anyone advise me? I'm a bit scared to use in case I get a shock. I've only ever used plastic connector clips.Incidentally- these are very strong indeed.
