Replaced an older Schlage push button lock. Great lock at a great price!!Easy to program after giving it a little extra thought. Instructions for programming aren’t as clear as should be. It doesn’t tell you which side of the top “lock/unlock” button to push while programming. If you push the middle of the button, it won’t work. Push the “unlock” side for programming. Would have taken me 10 minutes LESS had they included that tiny bit of info.

Easy to install with one caveat. If the lock isn’t at factory reset settings when installing it might not do rehanding properly. The programming code would only work with the door locked and would unlock when pushing the lock button and lock when pressing the unlock. I fixed this by installing batteries with the lock not connected to the keypad and pushing the reset button

I purchased this door lock in July 2024, hoping for a reliable and convenient digital lock for my home. Unfortunately, it has been nothing but frustrating. While the lock works fine manually when you turn it by hand, the digital features simply don’t work as advertised.I followed all the programming instructions carefully, but every time I tried to set it up, it just beeped without functioning properly. I even took the time to look up the error codes and troubleshoot multiple times, but nothing resolved the issue. The digital functionality has been completely useless since day one.If you’re looking for a basic manual lock, this might work for you, but if you’re expecting a functional digital lock, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Very disappointed with this purchase and wouldn’t buy it again.

I needed to get new deadbolts for my mom’s house but didn’t need anything super expensive or complicated. AmazonBasics has yet to let me down and hasn’t with this one. It was simple to install and fit with much of the original hardware. Programming it was a little more complicated and took some time. We have an individual code for everyone in the house as well as a generic code that we can give out to others and delete as needed. A pro as well as a con is the auto lock feature. My family has a tendency to leave the door unlocked so this is helpful for when that happens. The only con with it is that the auto lock is on a somewhat short timer (2 minutes I think). So if you step outside for a few minutes and leave the door open the deadbolt will close and they often forget to unlock it before closing it again (resulting in the deadbolt slamming against the doorframe). Allowing a longer time in between unlocking and auto locking would be nice. I can’t speak on battery life yet.

I purchased these for a shore house in case we forgot the keys. I installed it myself and it works perfectly! It's very easy to punch in the code I selected and press the little unlock button. Even easier to lock the door - just press the lock button and done - no knobs to turn or stick out that may be in the way of a storm door handle. I had two from last year, and just purchased two more. My neighbor liked it and got one for herself too!
