Soft, silky like feeling.However, I'm disappointed that they just don't "sit/wear" correctly on my head! Mind you, we all have different sized heads. Mine isn't the largest :) The woman in the description wearing one of these headbands looks like these fit her perfectly. On me, when I tried several attempts, unsuccessfully, to achieve "that look," the headband just quickly rides up to the top of my crown; then falls off. Bummer! I attempted several times and with a couple of the other headbands, as well. Same results. I currently have medium thick hair (I'm now 63). As mentioned earlier, if I were to describe my head size, it would be a medium. Same in a hat too. These bands shouldn't ride up the way they do. OR perhaps I'm not wearing them correctly? But seriously, what's to "learn?" I'll keep these and wear them as a bracelet. I wrap them several times around my wrist for a cute look.If you have shorter hair or more importantly, a smaller head (say a size Small in a hat), then you should be fine. I honestly can't say they aren't pretty and soft. They came within 3 days of ordering, neatly packaged. I choose the 3 with the palm leaf design. Silky soft material and very easy to put on. with just enough stay power (meaning no slipping down). I was looking for something different from the usual pony tail bands that can cause breakage to hair and I believe these are it. And believe it or not if you had one of these on but forgot your face mask when going out...I tried it and yes these could substitute for a face mask in a hurry.. By the way my hubby saw me wearing it and said hey that looks so 60's and its looks good on you, better than your regular pony tail. I'm so glad I found these because they are great. I've used soft cotton headbands in the past, and was a little skeptical about how these would fit. However, I've had no issues with them at all! They fit nice and snug, but not too tight to where they give me headaches like some headbands have done to me in the past. I've been able to wear them all day and couldn't even tell I was wearing anything. I wear them when I'm working out, as well as in the kitchen where I work as a pastry chef full time.
