I followed that recommendation the first time by measuring my foot with a ruler and ordered a size 7. I was skeptical since that is a size and a half smaller than normal but I assumed they knew what they were talking about. When I got the shoes and tried them on it was like Cinderella's stepsisters with the glass slipper - no way the shoes would fit unless I lost some toes and had a much narrower foot. So I returned them and ordered an 8.5, my normal size, and they fit fine. They are still a bit tight in the heel but I'm hoping that will loosen the more I wear them. These shoes look really nice, I'm very pleased with their design and the price is very reasonable compared to other similar styles of shoes. Now that I know what size works for me, I may order a pair in blue. :-)I have been an active member of Amazon since 1996 and I rely heavily on reviews provided by others when making a decision as to whether or not to purchase an item -- whether that purchase is one that I am making through Amazon or another source (such as a local store). But they arrived today (very fast) and I tried them on with the work pants I would be wearing them with and I really think they look nice. I wear between an 8.5 and a 9, have skinny feet, and even though the 8.5 might have worked, I didn’t want my toes squished. They are narrow pointy shoes after all. Really don’t make my feet look too big or anythingI have a feeling that until they are broke in I’ll get a blister on the back of my heel. I ordered some invisible socks too, but they haven’t shown up yet ( which is more normal for stuff from Amazon with Prime membership) Also ordered another pair of this type of shoe so I could have options. Hopefully I don’t love both right?These will be for work, and I am on my feet, so comfort is important and these are that!All in all I I kinda LOVE these oxfords. The quality of them are wonderful for the price. My only quip with this is if you were to wear socks, the toe box will get a bit tight. However if you wore thin socks, they fit perfectly. I wonder if a size 9 would have been better or if it'll stretch out when I break them in.Edited: As I thought, they fit perfectly! Just needed to be broken into.
