To me just sitting around they don't really feel like they are doing much on warmth, but when I get to moving they feel like they actually are generating heat. I always layer on up with either fleece or wool, but these thermals are an excellent base layer. Maybe the tag had been sewed on where they rubbed on my skin so I removed the tags and now there is no problem. The thermal is cozy and soft and it is really a nice layer underneath my clothes.
