If so will it run of, said ac adaptor?** A: No, but you can find AC adapters that will work if you don't want to search for a hard to find and expensive Sangean adapter. The main thing is to check compatibility with the adapter specs listed in the little Sangean booklet that comes with this radio. I got an adapter for under $12 that has worked fabulously and has not caused any interference with the radio: HomeSpot 5V 2.4A Power Supply / Adapter. It has a micro USB that plugs into the power input on the Sangean, and a USB at the other end that plugs into the small adapter that includes over-charge and overheating protection. It even has a power switch on the cable. It is only IPX3 (water resistant), there are IPX4 rated radios available. Water proof is IPX7 or higher. And IPX3 DOES NOT mean it can handle spraying from any direction, rather only up to 60° from the top of the device. It is not rated to handle a rainstorm in the back county without being cover up. IPX4 rating means water splashed from any direction is ok, not IPX3. **Q: How long does the batteries it comes with last? Before having to replace to new rechargeable batteries?** A: The radio comes with a replaceable Nmhi rechargeable battery which should last a long time if properly charged. I keep My radio on the window ledge and the solar panel keeps the charge up.
