We have a professional services business in a "store front" setting with numerous commercial grade, heavy solid core doors. Employees are always forgetting to close doors between employee and client areas, and just as bad, manually closing the doors would result in loud and startling slams no matter how gently you tried to close them. Rather than letting our contractor pick the cheapest option, we bought a couple of different door closer models, including this Lynn Heavy Duty Designer model DC8016. Extremely pleased. Instructions were clear and straightforward such that I was able to install myself rather than have our contractor do it. We put the Lynn closer on our most highly trafficked door and a few weeks in, it's still performing flawlessly. A competing, cheaper door closer is already squeaking. The Lynn closers are quiet, strong, and the latch adjustment has completely eliminated the slam such that the only sound heard when closing is the lock latch itself.We will be using Lynn on all our doors now and will probably also replace the other brands because they're just not performing. Lynn hardware is also quick to respond with questions - reached out to them on their website and they actually responded! I was looking for hold-open functionality, which they do have through an arm replacement. I couldn't find here on Amazon, but was able to order by contacting Lynn through their website. Haven't tried the arm yet, but will update this review after I've tried it. Highly recommend his closer!

I was hesitant ordering it as I was not familiar with the various door closers brands. I went with this model because it matched my previous dc of 12.5 inches in width but did not come out 3” like another model I was looking at. Now I’m so thankful that I went with it. It looks really good and works great.

I bought two of this item. The first one had no instructions inside. It had obviously been returned. Using you tube videos, I managed to install it. The second on contained a black part and an antique colored part.

Easy installation instructions. It came preset very close to how I wanted. I like that you can adjust the hold door open option so it wont come straight back quick. Had to email customer support for a question and they wrote back fast and answered me quickly. I will be purchasing another one for our bathroom door. Its worth the money to get quality product and support

Hear the noises of the springs, sounds like crap. Cannot turn down the back pressure enough. I will be throwing this garbage away.

Good value for a nice door closure

We installed this on our inside garage steel door, and I was concerned it was going to be ugly - it's not! Works great and does its job perfectly. I had a handyman install it and it took him about 15 minutes.
