I did this and the lights still dont work. Strung them outside my garage and they look lovely. They provide quite a lot of light but don't look too 'Christmasy' which is good. So far they've been bright every night, but we have had a lot of sun, so not sure about how they'll fare on cloudy days... But for the price I'm impressed.
