Using an astounding amount of research, Sears dazzles her readers from the very beginning and allows them to better relate with the slave victim's experience.Sears book is not only informative and detailed but also entertaining. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the history of slavery, oriental studies, or the history of the people of Early Republic as well as anyone looking for a great read.
