BIANCHIX15 Shoulder Holster 4-5 Auto (Tan)

Does fit a 1911 with 5" barrel but not safely
This would make a good shoulder rig if worn infrequently as the leather holster is VG quality but the fabric straps in time will stretch and leave the rig sloppy in fit. The snaps are Excellent quality. This shoulder rig on Amazon is stated to fit a "Large Automatic", this wording is also used on other sites as well, which is wrong, read on......... The big con as mentioned in my headline........notice image #2 of the trigger guard on my 5" Springfield Garrison 1911. The trigger guard is exposed when the 1911 is fully inserted into the holster. This condition would not happen with a 4/4 1/4" barreled commander model. On any safe holster the trigger guard on the holstered gun should not be exposed where you could trigger the gun with your index finger when you go to draw the gun. Another issue not safety related is the trigger guard strap that would fit a commander model much better than a full sized 1911. Aside of this glaring problem the holster is well worth what I paid for it a couple days ago. I am military retired USMC and ILARNG and have carried a 1911 for 22 years plus many years as a civilian. If you train religiously with the 1911 you will find yourself offing the safety as you drive the gun to the target which mostly eliminates a premature discharge caused by your index finger pulling the trigger as you begin your draw. That is why I will keep this shoulder holster, unless something on the holster deteriorates in the next 29 days. This is my first holster rig and if it proves successful I will purchase a custom rig down the road. This is a good "starter" shoulder rig and if taken care of should last a civilian a long time. If it wasn't for the problem above I would rate this holster as five stars due to the leather quality and pricing.

Five Stars
I have carried concealed for over a decade, and I have always been interested in a vertical shoulder holster but unwilling to pay the price. I have a horozontal one for a small glock, but for someone reason I am not as comfortable in it. I worry about it falling out, it flaps a little too freely and when I anchor both sides to my belt it feels restrictive. I bought this one a few months back and find that I use it much more than I thought. It is very comfortable. I am fairly active: I own a small business, I bike for exercise, I am an avid boater and fisherman and I also have a small shop. I was most interested in this for boating activities so I would not be obsessed about dropping my glock in the water from using a regular hip holster. I am happy with it; it has a strong clip, can fasten down with a strap both to my belt and across the firearm and it is secure. I also use it when I bike. I usually do 15 to 20 mile rides, and this holster rig is comfortable and rides tight against my side. I also wear it more and more at the office. It is easy to slip on and off and as long as you have a jacket or a suit coat to cover it, it conceals nicely. I am not as young as I used to be, and I found that when I carry on my hip all day I have some lower back pain. I avoid that completely with this. Also, when I carry on the hip the butt of my holster is always digging in the seat of my truck and has worn the leather on the seat. That problem is solved as well, and there is easier access to your firearm than from the hip when seated. The model I bought was for a glock 21, full size, but I also use it for a glock 23, which is a little lighter. I put a full size .40 magazine in the 23 with a spacer, so I get the full 15 rounds with a smaller more easily concealed weapon. The interchangeability of Glock magazines is a great feature. The holster does not have a strap or tie down for the noncarry side, but I am OK with that. It is not as restrictive. So I give it five stars. I like it more than I thought I would.

Niche way to carry, doesn't get any more classic than a Bianchi vertical shoulder holster
I think it's safe to say shoulder holsters can be limited when it comes to concealed carry, but where it lacks in some areas it makes up for in others, particularly being able to conceal and carry medium to larger pistols more comfortably. I personally have more experience with Galco leather products, but what I have seen of the quality of Bianchi leather so far has been top notch, especially with this Bianchi X15. I actually have a smaller Bianch X15 that fits sub-compact .380's and snubnose revolvers I had inherited from an uncle that he bought possibility in the seventies or eighties, and it held up great decades later and still works today! You will recognize this particular holster in tons of movies especially older ones if you pay attention. The cowhide leather on the X15 is very tough yet the leather is flexible enough that it can shape and mold to your firearm. The button snaps have held together very well for smooth draws but have not had any issues accidentally coming undone on it's own from simple movements. Like most leather holsters it took some effort to break in the leather and have it mold to my compact Glock and Sig Sauers, but they definitely fit in this holster and draw and conceal well for this system. While this isn't my favorite or most utilized holster my experience so far has been stellar. You can't go wrong with the Bianchi X15 if you want a classic quality vertical shoulder holster.

decent holster
This is a decent holster, but it is very thick; the comfort is ok for about 8hrs. Concealability-just ok, better with a smaller pistol of course. You really need a jacket to hide this big thick holster. My glock 20 is a hair too big for this holster, the glock 19 is a decent fit, the glock 36 almost falls in but it will work, the baby glock will work, a glock 17, M&P full size or compact, sig p225/226 will work, this holster is just not the best rig to buy. I don't recommend it at all. A variety of gun makes and models will fit in this. I thought that this classic holster would be good enough for me, but I just don't like it at all. I now use an aker flat sider shoulder rig for the M&P and like it much better. Let's face it, shoulder rigs do not conceal well unless you have a good covering garment or the pistol is really small. Bottom line, if you want one vertical shoulder rig to fit many different guns and you are not worried about high conceal/discrete wear, then this will probably be fine.

Leather Holster
Not really worth the money. The leather is extremely dry, and thin. Not as good quality, as other leather from this company. Sources ???
