I am reading this book for the third time in about 25 years.  It is the best summary I jave found of the trends and events that comprise the history of the United States.

    I did not like as a history book at all

Arrived as promised and in promised condition. Rental.  The text itself, however, I did not like as a history book at all.  I am a well-educated and well-read person and I had trouble following this one.  It jumped from one president to the next and back again without including dates or other ways of figuring out where you were in a historical context and most chapters left me without the knowledge I should have had when finished.  It also totally avoided the Holocaust in the historical content and I have a major issue with that.  When the professor has to provide a lot of outside reading for you to get the information you need, it is not a good textbook.
