Frequently Asked Questions Does this kit come with casters/wheels and fertilizer? No, this base kit does not include the optional casters/wheels or our fertilizer & dolomite. This version is best for those who do not need to be able to easily move their EarthBox garden and already have or want to use their own fertilizer. Just remember to always follow the included instructions around recommended fertilizer, dolomite, and potting mix to ensure your growing success. What are the dimensions or the EarthBox Original container and how much water does it hold? It's 29" L x 13.5" W x 11" H and holds 3 gallons of water and 2 cubic feet (60 dry quarts) of growing media (i.e. potting mix). Do I have to use the included mulch cover? We highly recommend it. While you may still have success without using it, our mulch cover provides several critical functions to control and protect the system's environment. It prevents nutrients from washing away when it rains, conserves water, and prevents you from having to weed! How will I know when to add water? A good rule of thumb is to add water every day via the Fill Tube until water comes out the overflow drain. This ensures your plants always have what they need (you can't overwater!). Keep in mind that the first few weeks after transplanting small seedlings or sowing seeds, it may seem like the reservoir is still very full. Roots are still small and developing so they are not taking a lot of water in this phase. Once more leaves develop and the plants begin growing tall and filling out, they will start requiring more. Later in the growing season, you may need to water more than 1 time a day. How many plants can I grow in an EarthBox? The number of plants you can grow per system at one time will vary based on the type of plant. The included Plant Placement Chart indicates how many plants you need and where to place them. **Q: which Earth Box is best for Christmas gift??**
A: We have 8 of the Earth Boxes seen in this photo and our items are growing like crazy we live in the Bahamas and food is very expensive so having these boxes is great plus you don't have to change the soil which saves money. Great gift idea.

**Q: How many plants can you add in here at a time? Also how much soil is needed. I am wondering if a 4 pound bag is enough.**
A: I have the full size containers, not the junior.  The number of plants depend on the type.  2 tomato plants per box, I have 4 cucumbers in a box, 3 pepper with 2 oregano plants in another, 2 squash plants in one, and mixed herbs in the last two.  I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.The instructions say 2 cubic feet, but I think it takes a little more.  Not sure how big a 4 pound bag would be

**Q: Are the terra cotta ones just terra cotta colored or are they actual terra cotta?**
A: It is plastic, terra cotta color. Great product.  Easy to put together and worked really well.
