TRAC does recommend however not going over 30LB as often when retrieving an anchor it will come up with sticks, mud etc that can add weight and overly tax the unit. Have been using without fail since **Q: does this winch come with a remote?** A: Hi, No. This unit comes with an up/down switch on the housing of the unit. You can add a TRAC T10116 which is a wireless remote kit or a TRAC T10115 Wired Second Switch kit. With either of these additions the switch on the cover works as well as the Fob (T10116) or the 2nd switch mounted at the helm (T10115). I wouldn't buy it for 50 bucks .. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not as heavy duty as thought *by C***E on July 14, 2023* This was bought to replace a Trac 30 I assumed as a trac 35 it would have 5 Lbs more lifting capability. iT Will lift a 30 lb anchor to the unit but not enough power to stow in the yoke as designed and as my Trac 30 was capable of doing. The anchor hanging not stowed is unsafe and rattles against the back of the boat. On a positive note the hole pattern was identical to my old unit which helped with the install.
