Review: Excellent Monitor if you want to avoid paying huge dollars ... - Excellent Monitor if you want to avoid paying huge dollars for thunderbolt displays that burnout in a few years. But note, these monitors are built so that they are built more narrow, hence the 21:9 display as compared to the usually 16:9 or 16:10. If you have small area for a workspace with say a sloped roof, in an attic or nook type area this monitor would be excellent due to it's design. Display is sharp and the IPS 2560x1080 is outstanding.
Review: Misleading bezels, huge field of view. - For the price, for me it is a tough call. I don't buy many expensive tech items, and generally rely on used or hand-me-down items. Overall, using Windows 8.1 on this screen has been very favorable. The split screen features of the operating system and of the monitor give it a lot of practical purposes. After playing around with this, I feel it would work best with a second monitor, not side by side, but in an L shape. One for vertical web browsing, and the other laterally for media productions, art, etc.... I would do that, with a standard 1920x1080 screen to round it out for general purposes. Screenshots Lateral format: [...] Vertical format: [...] As you can see, depending on the purpose, it can hold a ton of content without scrolling. But in lateral format, on webpages like facebook, you will be scrolling a lot. Or if you have it turned vertically, you might find yourself scrolling left and right a lot. As such, this is more of a specific purpose monitor. It works best in either or format. A standard 1920x1080 will give the most well rounded experience for general users. When I use this for playing portal, my lateral field of view is awesome, but not so much vertically. Some complaints The bezel is larger than the example photo on desertcart. The LCD panel has a black bar that no settings can eliminate. It is there, and it makes the bezles on the left and right of the screen 0.5 inches wide on each side. So if you have two of these side by side, you will still have an inch wide black space between the two screens. This is very disappointing to me, I will update this review if I do find a way to fix this, because I did want to use two of these side by side, and potentially one vertically if I decide to get a TV or something to round them all out. The bezel at the top of the screen is also slightly convex in shape, so you can't have one positioned directly on top flush with the frame. Likewise you will still end up with a full inch black bezel between the two. Overall, I find the colors to be accurate when positioned properly and I am sitting in the center. The viewing angle is easily affected because of the wide view. Overall I don't see any distortion of colors, but more so just differences in brightness. The monitor did not have any dead pixels on it, and performance wise, I have been satisfied with every feature and functionality of it excluding the bezel. Note: No built in speakers. Note: Annoying LG logo on the front, not illuminated, but I still covered it with black tape. For the price compared to other 21:9 displays, This is worth it. It is a tough call if I will buy another in the future as of now. Update 3/2015: I've found that the bezel is present in the other example photos of actual screenshots on desertcart, but not on the grey screen shot used by default. I've also discovered that difference cannot be affected with any setting. It is an actual border framing the LCD panel that is absent any liquid crystals to display images. If they were just illuminated as black" or off, they would still smudge color if physically touched. As such, the screen/panel extends from plastic to plastic. I.e the frame/shell of the monitor that houses everything. But the presence of liquid crystal of the display extend in all direction up to 0.5" inches from the plastic shell. So no setting, or projection or source of image will eliminate it. Update 2/8/2016: I'm pretty sure my monitor has a dying backlighting bulb. No means of adjusting any settings anywhere improves the situation. Compared to my other display, it looks like I have the backlight setting at 50% even though all the settings are maxed out. So I'm going to have to get that bulb replaced myself since it is out of warranty. So buy the extended warranty, it may save you the trouble if you have this problem or something else happen.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic crisp monitor can accept multiple input.
*by B***S on November 25, 2014*

Monitor is fantastic! In addition to being able to "divide" the screen into areas, you can treat each area as a separate monitor. The monitor will also accept input from dual sources. If you want split screen you have to use DVI input. Love the monitor and the crisp display. Instructions indicate you must run max resolution for best results, but that is tiny txt. You can run at a larger resolution and still have side by side displays. Monitor can slso be divided into four virtual monitors.
