I don’t use the two harness straps, I use a separate strap that goes around the headrest and then to the harness. NEVER, EVER attach straps to your dogs COLLAR. ALWAYS use a harness. If you have to slam on and the straps are attached to the collar you can snap the dogs neck or cause other permanent injury!!!!! **Q: does the tether attach to the frame of the seat or just to the cloth?** A: There is no frame, but when the seatbelt is properly holding the chair in the car, the tether is also anchored (the tether is attached to the seatbelt anchor). While the "chair" is not installed on the car, the tether is not stable at all. When installed as directed, it would save your dog from flying out of the chair **Q: I have a 40 lb French bulldog. Will the large seat accommodate him?** A: If you get the large size your Frenchie should be able to lie down. My Frenchie’s back is only 14” so he has lots of room. Even if your Frenchie has a back length of 16” he should be able to. I think the seat length is 22”.
