He loves it and says it will definitely build up shoulder strength, speed of movement for arms and hands, helps with rotation in forearms wrists and hands even if you don't have an injury. He has the 12 pound one so it depends on what level you are at right now... he was strong before this so the 12 pound is good for him, but if you don't have much muscle strength in shoulders or arms you may want to start with the 8 pound.
