Then combined the two string like things so it fit the front perfect.I dyed the chemise but since it was made from varying materials it didn’t come out uniform in color, also instead of coming out green as intended, it came out aqua blue. (Polyester mostly)Other than that it was pretty sturdy and lightweight.I’ve included two pics of what it looked like out of the package and what the final look came out to be.I highly recommend a hoop skirt or pretty thick petticoat to go under this outfit.I had a thin petticoat that didn’t poof it out enough so I rigged up a 3 hoop skirt into the chemise.That gave it enough umfh to be able to walk without tripping on the ends.It was for our office Halloween costume contest. Nothing spectacular.I was happy with the end results. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Colonial Dress *by S***T on October 1, 2018* The size chart on this dress is very wonky. I'm 5'7" and 135 lbs. I'm 32-28-40 in dimensions. I'm a small in shirts but a large in pants because of my hips. I was advised to order double the size that I am, so I ordered a 2XL. Conveniently, the 2XL is covered under Prime, so I got the dress in two days. I tried it on after I got it out of the box and it's a tiny bit big on me, I think. It's not too big but I think it could be more form fitting. I don't want to return it though because the XL size isn't covered under Prime. I don't trust that the dress will come on time if I returned it and ordered a size down.I think it's pretty cute though, I'm still happy with the dress even if the size and the shipping methods are weird. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Thin Material and Very White *by V***E on November 27, 2018* This dress is pretty!It is very light weight and thin so if this is for Halloween in a cold climate, wear something underneath for sure. For a stage production or in a ho climate where you would more likely sweat, this does the job. It looks nice and you can always add accessories and more detailing.The underdress is stark white. Not cream, not off white but stark white. Like Tide and Teeth Whitening commercial white. This was a bit disappointing. I feel the picture makes it look more cream or at least off white. I would have preferred the white to seem more solid that bright stark white. You could maybe dye it a cream if desired.Some of the lacing was hard to do as the string doesn't always fit well through the fabric loops. It did start to fray at the tips from forcing it into the hole. Not a big deal. I'd maybe suggest undoing some of the loops and resewing or getting a smaller lacing, perhaps smaller cording, to fit into the holes. The material is the same as the dress. Very thin.Overall its just a simple, pretty dress. We purchased it for both Halloween and a production of Cinderella. Halloween was very cold and my daughter ended up wearing something else. This looks pretty good from the stage. However, if you want to be historically accurate, the fabric would have been much heavier. Not a big deal though.For these reasons, I give it a three out of five stars.
