Good snare effect from the internal wires straight out of the box (there is a video on YouTube that makes it sound like it is loaded with springs - that is very misleading). Limited bass - but this is a small box so you cannot expect more - but the bass is sufficiently different from the snare sound to be very playable. Supplied with a snug and well made bag with handles and a shoulder strap so you can take it anywhere, plus an Allen key to adjust the snare wires if you need to. Great fun, but a serious instrument just the same - and great value compared to the competition.
