I have only hand washed them and only use these jars for storage not pressure canning and they chip and crack where the lip for the hind is. I bought them for their beauty, but they are not as durable as the Ball hinge brand. Not worth the price. Used the largest sizes of these glass terrines to replace plastic containers for sugars, couscous, quinoa, nuts, etc. on a shelf in my too-small pantry. I have the same number of containers but this stack and apparently have a smaller footprint than what I was previously using. Now there is room in front for smaller items. I can now see what I have and see exactly what I need so I am not buying duplicates of items. Bought a few extra just in case and they hold a soup and keep crackers fresh. Keep finding new uses for them. And they look great.
