Bearings inconsistent
The trainer was working fine for a few days, I thought it was insanely great value for money. However, after a while it started getting stiff even though the pivot screws weren’t very tight. This meant it kept coming loose. I decided to take apart the thing to see what was wrong. This is what I found. One of the cage bearings were almost completely closed on one size, for reference I show a functional bearing on the second image. What must of happened is, as the oil wiped off, the ball bearings were no longer making contact with the blade side. This meant that this was effectively a washer and nothing more. The balls immediately fell out and I lost them but it’s not as if that matters since the housing is so gnarled. I can only find these exact kind of bearings being sold from the states with a delivery cost of over £50 so definitely not worth it. I just bought a squid industries Triton instead. I understand this product is cheap but for bearings to be this poor, even something so low in price shouldn’t be THAT low in quality. If it wasn’t for this, it would have gotten 5 stars.
