It's necessary to use the straightener in the hair with the product on** A: I sent my straightener back. I wasn’t happy with the effect. There just wasn’t enough power to straighten simply by passing the hair over it. Straighteners need more tension which will be better achieved with a top and bottom plate. This product I would say is only suitable for already fairly straight hair. The brush has 5 temperature settings and heats up fast. It is also has a shut off timer, so no need to worry about accidentally leaving them on! The result is as if I have used hair straighteners, nice and sleek. But I will say it is quicker than using traditional hair straighteners to achieve the final look. The brush bristles do not get hot so no issues with burning your head and ears! The back of the unit does get hot though, so will need to rested on a heatproof mat. I also do notice I was loosing fewer hairs than when using this brush vs traditional hair straighteners. Bonus! It comes with an instruction book and explains how to use and achieve results. A good cord length so you don’t have to sat to close to a plug in point.
