Any hazards to just bend and use for a product?** A: I believe they are simply stainless steel. I have cut these into 10 inch pieces and use them as mandrels for Lampwork. They are constantly in a flame while I melt glass around them to make beads. They would be very difficult to bend without special tools. **Q: Are these coated with anything? Or are they straight stainless steel rods?** A: no coating on rods. **Q: Can these be used as blocking wires for knitted items?** A: Not sure about that. These are 36" stainless steel rods in 1/16", 3/32" & 1/8" sizes (diameter). **Q: About how many rods per pound?** A: Approx. 13 rods per pound for 3/32, 36" TIG rods.
