It looks more than it is because it has been broken into haphazard pieces and so occupies more space than its weight would normally require. Even so, it is a bit disappointing to open an impressive box to find it less than half full.The fudge itself is immediately sweet, which is hardly surprising given the largest ingredient is sugar, followed by sweetened condensed milk (more sugar); glucose syrup and golden syrup are the fourth and fifth ingredients, followed by fondant (glucose syrup and sugar). It won’t come as too much of a surprise to be informed that this small box of 150g fudge therefore contains a whopping 663 calories. You will be lucky to get more than six chunks of fudge (plus some crumbs), so each morsel of fudge is likely to set your diet back by over 100 calories. Ouch!The texture is granulated and sugary (no real surprise there) and it does have a home made feel and look, thanks to those irregular chucks, all set off nicely by the stylish box. But the box is unlikely to be useful for very much after the fudge is consumed, attractive though it is.
