I use it to cut up to 8 sheets of paper at a time but have never cut chipboard. I believe it would handle things like the board used to mat pictures with no problems. **Q: How are you supposed to use the lock and still have the handle attached if handle blocks lock hole??** A: If you pull the end of the handle a little to the right it unlocks and so the same to lock it. **Q: Will it cut mat board?** A: Yes I believe so. But, there is a clamp like thing that come down with the blade. Just know that can’t be removed. I just finished cutting about 50 cardboard boxes with it. I feel the blade is sharp and tight enough to cut through your matte board. Even though matte board is a more dense material than card board. **Q: Can you replace the blade?** A: The blade sharpens when the edge loses it, it does not necessarily have to be changed ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what it says it will do *by A***R on May 9, 2020* I have used it to cut canvas, paper, card board, solid for day to day work. The ruler at the top is stiff but have using it and moving it back and forth it moves smoothly. It was good addition to my home office and for my art work. The guillotine is solid. The place holder acts as a paper weight to hold the paper in place when cutting, so I am not moving the paper or canvas around. It can be lifted as needed by the amount of paper one puts in place to cut. So far excellent. It is light weight and transported easily. It comes in a box to protect the blade I think.
