I wear this Mio Link every day. I have it on right now! It works great with my iPhone 4S. Easy to set up and very accurate.NO CHEST STRAP which is a huge plus!!!!!It looks nice too. Even if I go out for a dressy event I can wear this and I put nice bracelets with it.People like to ask about it and I've recommended it many times.Great product! NOTE: If you wear perfume, the strap will absorb the aroma!

Was really excited and utterly frustrated & disappointed

*by K***. on Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2014*

My frustration is solely based on the inability to get any information out of the device. If you're not planning on connecting it to any other program, app, or service for monitoring then it may work fine for you.I saw some people commented on sizing, so maybe I can at least help there. They didn't provide the sizing guide here, but it is listed on the Mio website. I had no issue with sizing, but I'm only 5'2". If you go by the guide I don't think you'll have a problem. I think some people are hoping they'll be able to squeeze into the smaller size because they like the color of that strap.Sizing guide from the Mio Website:Measure around your upper wrist, above - not directly on top of - your wrist boneMio LINK Regular (S/M) Strap: 121-175mm / 4.8"-6.9"Mio LINK Long (L) Strap: 149-208mm / 5.9"-8.2"I bought this as a gift for myself for completion of 12 week fitness program and was really excited about the ability to use heart rate monitoring (without an annoying & distracted chest strap) to get more accurate information regarding my workouts into My Fitness Pal.At first things looked hopeful. It fit well and comfortably, and was easy to get to read my heart rate. I downloaded the Mio Go app (Android) and while the app crashed my phone a couple of times, after some uninstalling/reinstalling/fiddling I was able to get it to pair and register my heart rate. I did a little more research into the app and realized I needed to use a third party app to allow it to export, so I downloaded Map My Fitness. I was able to get it to pair with the device and show my heart - for a couple minutes. With either app the device kept disconnecting from the band. I stop my workout, try to reconnect and sometimes it would, other times I just couldn't seem to get the phone to register the band. I realized I was going to keep having to stop, turn the band on/off to put it back in a discoverable mode and repair. This would completely screw up my workout by taking such regular and long breaks. Plus I had no way of knowing when it became disconnected unless I was staring at my phone the whole time.So I think: Ok, no big deal. It won't auto-sync. Not what I was expecting or hoping for but I'll just connect to my computer afterwards and upload. Nope. Two hours later and it just refuses to upload. It makes me think it's going to, the progress bar gets about 1/4 - 1/3 of the way through and then "Error: Cannot detect Java applet. To upload and download MIO device data, it is necessary to accept Java applet in your browser. See our Upload Troubleshooting Guide to help solve some this problem."I've checked that I have the most current version of java, I've made sure my browser is giving full permissions for the plugin to run, I've tested it on the java website - it should work fine. I've tried three different browsers (Chrome, Mozilla, even Internet Explorer) and nothing. The same frustrating error.I'm going to try one more time with tomorrow's workout, perhaps I'll have better luck getting it to pair with my phone and a third party app. If I do, I'll update my review. But if I don't? There's really no point in the purchase if I can't get any information out of the device. I'll just have to return it and look for another solution.UPDATE:Used Wahoo App today instead (on the elliptical where I could stare at my phone the whole time). Wahoo seemed to do a better job of being able to reconnect with the band on its own. However, it still disconnected a lot. It would register for 5-10 seconds, then "N/A" not connected for 10 seconds or so. It seemed about half or less of the time the band would register on my phone. Additionally, about 30 minutes in the light on the band caught my attention because it lit up a little longer than usual then didn't come back on and I realized it had turned itself off. I turned it back on and it resumed its intermittent connection on its own. Since the light just blinks every few seconds if I hadn't noticed the one longer blink I might not have noticed it had turned itself off.I compared the hand bar heart rate monitor on the elliptical to the band (when it did register) and they were pretty aligned - within 1 or 2 bpm of each other. I was able to export the Wahoo information to Map My Fitness, and then from Map My Fitness to My Fitness Pal. So the information did import. Though with the connection issues I'm not sure how accurate it is. The elliptical machine said I burned 440 calories, whereas the band info says I burned 413 calories.I mainly want to use it for weightlifting which is very difficult to estimate calorie expenditure without heart rate information, so I'll try it a few more workouts to see if it will improve my estimates, but I'm still pretty disappointed that this doesn't connect better. Maybe there's a difference in bluetooth for Apple vs. Android and the reviewers having such ease connecting are all iPhone users. I'm not sure. In case it's relevant, the phone I am connecting to is an HTC One.

Mio Link? More like "meh-o" link.

*by A***D on Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2017*

Works great, when it works, which is on short rides, most days. It doesn't have the battery life for any ride longer than 5 hours and some days you can take it off the cradle apparently fully charged, but still not get 30 minutes from the thing. I'm on my third one of these, so I know whereof I speak. Why three of them, if it is so mediocre? Because I really hate chest strap monitors. If that's you too, then this might be the device for you.(Also, the charging cradle is really poorly designed. There are four delicate little pins that easily get pushed down, after which it is really finicky to get the device to charge.)
