The anime diverges from the manga at episode 21. To be honest, if you really like the Claymore universe, I'd stop watching the anime at episode 20 (I guess you could go and watch it for posterity's sake) and starting read the manga at this volume. This volume continues with the Siege of the North, where the Claymores fight the Awakened scouting party and ends with the introduction of Rigaldo, the Silver King.
