The end part has a corrugated piece that is smooth on the inner side and keeps the snorkel away from the mouth during use when scuba diving. A special water collection well, with a large elliptic valve, allows quick and easy expulsion of water. Review: Excelllent snorkel - I should preface this by saying that as I wear ear plugs nowadays to protect my ears, I stay mostly on the surface and when I do dive occasionally, I don't go deeper than a couple of metres any more. This snorkel is efficient and relatively comfortable in use. The ball valve keeps out most of the water but when some does get in you can clear it easily and effectively by blowing sharply out. The mechanism which you use to join it to a mask is incredibly useful.as you position the plastic clasp on the mask strap and then simply snap-in the snorkel to it, which saves a whole lot of hassle in trying to get it back into the right position each time. The tube is wide enough to allow you to breathe pretty hard if you need to. This one is, by far, the best yet. The small float quickly shuts off the tube top to prevent water entering. Particularly useful in slightly choppy water where a wave might splash over the top. Is it 100% dry?
