LOADS of pockets, it is indeed convertible to a strangely sitting but fairly comfortable backpack, and a great size for an overnight bag for us bigger guys, with pockets enough to store all your toiletries. Would also make a good traveling tool bag.Not my biggest duffel bag by any means, but still very big at 30" with a cavernous main compartment, and at least 10 significant-sized pockets. None great for holding a tablet; you'd likely have to put those in the main compartment; but a good size for most anything else.It does feel a bit on the flimsy side, but that's probably more from the weather-resistant coating on the inside than from any faulty fabrication. All in all it has the feel of a good, solid, masculine (yeah, I said it. it's masculine.) piece of luggage.And yes, it has both backpack-style straps that stow inside the bottom of the bag and an over-the-shoulder duffel style strap. Versatile, spacious, and pockets galore! Also several D-rings, so do yourself a favor and grab some carabiners or paracord to lash a pillow or raincoat on top!Update:Still going strong! I'm a pretty big guy, so "overnight" bags are rarely worth it. This, However, will comfortably hold a week's clothing and a laptop in the main compartment with the additional pockets handling toiletries and cables and even headphones and shoes easily.This has become my go-to bag for travel and has been tough, spacious, and durable. The zippers are thicker and stronger than I thought. The bag is definitely large enough to handle the equipment I carry. Having the extra exterior pockets is very useful. I am extremely impressed with this purchase and highly suggest this product for anyone needing to carry equipment or items on a regular basis. It has many pockets. You can carry up to two weeks of clothing if you pack wisely (yes I did test it). The material is of ok quality and zippers are medium duty. It has so many compartments and pockets that will make organization a breeze.Back pack mode is great to have which is the main reason I looked into this bag. I just didn't like that the connecting hooks from the straps to the bag are plastic and feel like they may break if the bag was at full capacity and hiking for awhile. Also, the unpadded area of the straps will bother you if you are on long walks or hikes.
