ILUMINUM Water Bottle Filter for Water Cooler Dispenser - 4.5 Gallons with LCD Screen

I was finally able to get this thing working properly, but it required some doing. The floating valve was to wide to fit in the water cooler, so I had to dremel off the lip at the bottom of the valve. Once that was done, it fit in the cooler but the prong at the center of the water cooler would caused the whole thing to balance on the floating unit (and thus break). I ended up using a piece of the styrofoam packaging to raise the tank higher. Somehow, that worked perfectly, though the styrofoam packaging is now a permanent part of the fixture (it doesn't bother my roommates so I'm leaving it like that).

This filter does not fit standard dispensers. I was going to order a new dispenser, but after tasting the so called filtered water, realized that was not necessary. The water tastes the same as it did coming out of my tap. It tastes just like chlorine. I am returning it tomorrow. I have already called my local water delivery company to start a delivery plan. It is less expensive than the useless filters for this over priced, fancy looking junk. Plus, the instructions are not even coherent, just another "made in China" gimmick. I suspected when I opened the user manual to see how to install the 3 useless filters that this item was poorly manufactured. It never bodes well when the English reading instruction manual says things like, "Before use the product, please read use manual carefully.", "you are suggested to clean it periodically", and my personal favorite, "rinse it under a hydrant with shaking, first rinse it obversely, then reversely." Moral of the story....DON'T WASTE YOUR $$$, I know it looks like a product that would be excellent, but this is a perfect example of appearances being deceiving.

I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but it was exactly what I needed for our unsanititized well water, so I gave it a shot. I'm glad that I did. The instructions were the only problem, apparently translation did not go well. I eventually figured them out and I'm quite happy.. We've used it about 2 weeks. They say that filter life expectancy depends on the water being filtered, and I have yet to know how that will go. I have to wonder whether those who did not like the item understood that a piece of the cooler dispenser must be removed. I suspect not doing so would cause it to produce no water. UPDATE: They've now outdone themselves! I received an updated (better)instruction book in the mail. Still getting nice fresh water & wonderful not to lug bottles!

This is a waste to me , Ive been looking for a filter for almost a year and now will have to buy a new topper and hopefully it will fit the bottom cooler part. Would of never bought this if I knew there would not be a filter to replace!Not cool !!

I really wanted this to work, but it doesn't even work at all. Water filters have been around for years and use a simple process. This thing put out about 2 gallons of water that tasted just like tap water, then nothing. I triple checked the instructions with no luck. There are 3 fabric type filters that aren't even listed on the instructions, but you can tell by there size where supposed to go. I tried with and without them, pre-rinsed the filters, etc. There are hundreds of water filters out there that work fine, so I don't see whats so hard about making one for a water cooler that works.

Great in most respects but cannot fully utilize the entire capacity because the filtering is partially done below the water line.

I love it, It has served me well. I have had one for more than 3years and need to change the filter but the filter is more expensive than the whole unit so I bought another one.
